The update comes following emergency services who rushed to the scene of Short Street, Halesowen, shortly before 11.40am to reports of a fire affecting a property on the street.

Four fire engines and two 4x4 brigade response vehicles from West Midlands Fire Service attended the scene, utilising a hydraulic aerial platform crewed by firefighters from Haden Cross, Brierley Hill, Oldbury and Woodgate Valley stations.

The blaze started in the rear garden of the property and quickly spread to the roof space of the nearby building.

It was then confirmed later on in the day that it was a garden fire which had spread to three terraced houses.
