Man taken to hospital as van crash blocks Birmingham New Road
A man was taken to hospital after two vans crashed at a major Black Country junction.
The man, in his 60s, was taken to New Cross Hospital with chest pain following the incident on the Birmingham New Road at the junction of Ivy House Lane in Coseley at 10am today.
His condition was not thought to be serious.
The white pick-up truck was left with a caved-in bonnet and bumper, while debris from the smash was strewn across the road.
Both vehicles were moved onto the nearby BP Garage petrol station forecourt.
Medics and Fire Service crews from Bilston and Wolverhampton attended.
Matt Smith, West Midlands Fire Service spokesman, said: "We received a 999 call this morning, after two vans were in collision at a crossroads.
"We assisted one man out of his van and made sure both vehicles were secure."
One ambulance attended on advice of the fire service.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: "We took a man in his 60s to hospital following the collision.
"He was the driver of the one van. The other driver was given precautionary checks at the scene."
The vehicles were removed shortly after 11am.
