Crews battle severe fire at Brierley Hill builder's yard
A severe fire broke out at a builder's yard in Brierley Hill today, with people urged to stay away from the area and nearby residents urged to keep their doors and windows closed.
Firefighters said. after the fire started at a unit in Leys Road this morning and was now under control.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said at about 10am on Sunday: "We’re currently dealing with a severe fire in Leys Road Brierley Hill with four appliances and a hydraulic platform. Fire is now under control but avoid area if possible and keep windows and doors closed. Thanks.
"Safe and assertive actions from our crews this morning to prevent a rapid escalation. Initial appliances in attendance within three minutes from call. Avoid the area if possible and please keep windows and doors closed. Thanks."
