Canal searched in effort to find missing Brierley Hill man
An icy stretch of canal in Brierley Hill was searched by specialist police as part of efforts to find a missing man.
Officers say it is just one of a number of lines of enquiry they are following to find Simon Smith, who was last seen on December 3.
Mr Smith, from Brierley Hill, had spent the day visiting family in the local area but never returned home.
He has not been in contact with family and friends since then, who are extremely worried about his safety.
The search took place on Monday, with images posted on Twitter by West Midlands Police Operational Support Unit.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Mr Smith's family are being kept up to date with any progress made.
"Simon is white, 5ft 8ins tall and slim with short curly brown hair. He was last seen dressed in blue jeans, a red jumper, black jacket, a black and green beanie hat and black trainers.
"If anyone thinks they’ve seen him then please call police on 101 or the Missing People charity on 116 000."
