Plans to convert former Dudley sex shop into 146-seat church
A former sex shop in a Black Country town centre will be converted into a 146-seater church if plans are given the go-ahead.
Plans have been submitted to convert the former Private Shop in Flood Street, Dudley, into a place of worship.
Plans for the rundown former shop and warehouse include a 146-seat worship hall, a youth room with pool table, a food bank and a cafe.
A new aluminium shop front will be installed at the building close to the tram stop for the new West Midlands Metro line, due to open this year.
The site is off King Street, and close to the new Duncan Edwards Leisure Centre, and opposite the site of the town's proposed ice rink.
The proposals will now be considered by planners.
