Five crews tackled the blaze that broke out in a skip containing waste on Shaw Road in Blowers Green, Dudley at around 8.10pm on Friday night.

The area is largely occupied by industrial units and businesses.

A West Midlands Fire spokesperson confirmed they remained on site until around 3.51am this morning (Saturday) before leaving

People have been advised to avoid the area, and residents living nearby have been told to keep their windows and doors closed.

It was the second fire to have broken out in Dudley on Friday (March 14).

Shortly before 6.30am, 30 firefighters were called to the single-storey building on Mons Hill in Woodsetton where around 70 per cent of the property had been affected by the blaze, a West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the factory as it was alight.
