For the last three years Ember, a three-year-old red panda has been wowing guests of Dudley Zoo and Castle with every visit - and two years ago she was joined by her future hubby Carko.

The pair can often be seen climbing trees inside their den, scoffing bamboo - which they get fresh packs of every day courtesy of the zoo - and chasing squirrels who can sometimes be seen invading the pairs private plot.

Last week it was announced that Ember was the most popular animal for subscriptions - raking in thousands of them by loyal animal-lovers every year - but Carko is struggling to fetch the same attention, even though his training videos are mind-blowing.

Experts at the increasingly popular attraction are now hoping the two will soon hit it off and bring about a brand new bamboo of baby red pandas to Dudley, as the mission to keep the species in healthy numbers continues.

One of the lead keepers, Laura Barker, said being able to watch the two grow has been amazing - especially for the guests - and expressed pride at just how popular the pair have become over the last few years.
