MP Marco Longhi has said that the Dudley Council's Planning Committee's decision to refuse a set of newly built houses on a stretch of green belt land in Lower Gornal "is the right decision".

The comment comes after Dudley Council's planning committee unanimously voted to refuse 14 new homes on lands in Majors Fold, near The Straits, in Lower Gornal.

The MP said that his approach towards housing developments remains "brownfield first" and that there is no need to build houses on greenspaces.
