A man died on the tracks at a train station in Dudley yesterday evening.

British Transport Police were called to Lye railway station at 7.01pm on Tuesday, January 26 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Services from Birmingham Snow Hill to Stourbridge Junction were cancelled as emergency services attended the scene.

Paramedics pronounced a man dead at the scene.

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7:03pm on Tuesday to an incident on Station Drive in Lye.

"We sent one ambulance, two paramedic officers and the HART team.

"On arrival crews found one patient, a man.

"Sadly, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
