Cubs’ first class deliveries
The Merry Hill shopping centre has teamed up with Cubs to help deliver festive cheer to those in need in the Black Country.
The shopping centre is supporting a Christmas card appeal run by 1st Upper Gornal Scouts.
A dedicated drop-off box is at the centre’s customer service desk to help the scouts reach their goal of collecting and delivering 1,000 Christmas cards to isolated and vulnerable people.
Until December 22, visitors to the intu centre in Brierley Hill and members of the community are encouraged to make or buy a card, write a Christmas message inside and drop it off at the customer service desk, ready for collection and delivery by the scouts.
Rachael Jackson, general manager at intu Merry Hill, said: “The Christmas Kindness appeal is a heart-warming initiative.
“We’ve received a number of donations already and it’s been great to see our staff and visitors come together to show their support for other members of our local community.”
Neil Watts, Cub leader, said: “This year hasn’t been easy, especially for those living alone, and we are hoping that our cards will put a smile on their faces.
"We are also asking for people to include a small donation with their card for a local food bank.”
