A university graduate has published his second self-help book aimed at inspiring young people to believe in the power of positive thinking.

Jack's journal focuses on areas related to wellbeing, mental health, positivity, mindset and self care

Jack Walton, who had his own struggles with anxiety and a negative mindset, published his first book, Being The Best You, last year.

Now the 23-year-old, from Stourbridge, is celebrating the release of his follow-up, The Best You Journal, which he says is made up of a variety of tried and tested tools and techniques others can use to live a happier and healthier life.

“The journal focuses on areas related to wellbeing, mental health, positivity, mindset and self care,” said Jack, who attended Birmingham City University and Ridgewood High School in Stourbridge.

“Each exercise within is either free to do or super cost effective. I wanted to ensure that nobody has any barriers to bettering themselves.

“Goal setting, self-care schedules, monthly reflections, gratitude pages, affirmation lists and mental health check-ins are just some of the different activities within.

“The journal has a stripped back and easy to follow approach. It’s both a book and journal all rolled into one and hopefully is something that people from all walks of life will benefit from."

Jack, who had suffered with poor mental health from a young age, was inspired to write his first book when he decided to change his life after learning about the the Law of Attraction philosophy – the belief positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person’s life.

He began training himself to think positively about himself and the world around him.

To help him stay focused, he would make simple notes to of advice to himself on his phone, which he used to boost his mood when he was feeling down.

Jack decided to write a book because he wanted to share these tips with other young people who may be facing similar struggles.

In the future, he hopes to hold workshops in schools based on his book to help teenagers.
