Two taken to hospital as crash shuts Birmingham New Road
Two people were taken to hospital following a crash which closed a busy road in the Black Country.
The smash between a car and a van happened on the Birmingham New Road in Coseley at around 8.45am.
The van driver was freed by firefighters and taken to Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital. A woman who was driving the car was also taken to hospital.
The Birmingham New Road was closed heading towards Wolverhampton following the smash, leading to delays.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: "Nine firefighters from Bilston and Dudley attended. The incident involved a car and van in collision.
"The male in the van was released from the vehicle and conveyed to New Cross Hospital. The female in the car was also taken to hospital. Another passenger in the car was cleared at the scene by paramedics."
