Eight firefighters tackled the incident at the former Metro Bar pub in Trindle Road at 4pm this afternoon.

Officials say they believe the eyesore building was 'deliberately' set on fire.

Two crews from Dudley and Brierley Hill attended.

West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson, Matt Smith, said: "The incident involved a small fire on the first floor of the building. Breathing apparatus was used and one hose reel jet to tackle the blaze.

"It was believed to have been started deliberately.

"The stop message came through at 4.27pm."
