Former police officer dies two years after motorbike crash in Thailand
A former police officer seriously injured in a motorbike crash in Thailand two years ago has died.
More than £17,000 was raised to bring former West Mercia Police officer Bob Anthony home following the incident.
The father suffered a broken neck after being discovered lying in a ditch in Pattaya in 2015, leaving him paralysed and needing a ventilator to breath.
After being flown back home he was initially treated at a hospital in Oswestry before returning home to Kidderminster.
However, due to his injuries, his health deteriorated in recent months and the 57-year-old died on July 7.
A funeral was held at Wyre Forest Crematorium.
He leaves behind his wife Kate, and children Steven and Nadine.
Nadine said: "I want to thank everyone who supported us in getting my father home.
"If it wasn't for the public I wouldn't have had the last two and a half years with my dad here."
She added: "He was found in the ditch - how it ever happened we will never know.
"Maybe he got hit from behind, I just don't know."
Mr Anthony served in the Royal Signals for 14 years before becoming a police officer.
After retiring he moved to Thailand with his wife Kate, where the crash happened.
Nadine said: "He came back and his condition improved with treatment.
"But in recent months his health deteriorated, due to the injuries he suffered.
"We all miss him badly."
