Man, 80, killed in crash with truck near Bridgnorth

An 80-year-old man died after his car collided with a truck near Bridgnorth.

The driver of a silver Vauxhall Corsa was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on the B4363 in Faintree.

The man's next of kin has been informed.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux truck escaped unharmed, while the passenger in the vehicle, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Police were called shortly after 3.15pm on Saturday.

PC Ross Ashmore, of West Mercia Police, said: "We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to please call West Mercia on 101, quoting incident number 534 S of July 7.

"Our thoughts are with the man's family at this difficult time."
