Eight more coronavirus deaths in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire
Eight more coronavirus deaths have been reported at at hospitals in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire.
Four people have died in Birmingham, two in Staffordshire, one in Wolverhampton and one in Sandwell – according to figures released by NHS England today.
It comes after seven deaths were announced for the region on Saturday and means the death toll at hospitals across the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire is now at 2,672.
On top of this, 705 people have died in the region's care homes after contracting Covid-19.
No other deaths were confirmed at hospital trusts in Walsall or Dudley today.
In the latest figures from NHS England, it was reported that three patients have died at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, where the death toll is now at 1,034.
One person has died at Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The total is now 39.

Two people have also died at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, which runs Stafford County and Stoke Royal hospitals. The total is now at 365 people.
One patient has died at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs Sandwell and City hospitals, where the death toll is now at 399.
And one person has died at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, which runs New Cross and Cannock Chase hospitals, taking the total to 297.
No further patients died at Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, where the total stands at 271.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust also remains at 234.
A further 61 people in hospitals across England, who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in the country to 30,971.
Patients were aged between 54 and 96 years old. All except four – aged 56 to 92 – had known underlying health conditions.
Date of death ranges from October 4 to 17.
Their families have been informed.
