Man dies after suspected hit-and-run crash in Birmingham
A man was killed after being hit by a car in Birmingham city centre which police say drove off from the scene.
Police have launched an investigation into the suspected hit-and-run crash which happened in the early hours of Sunday.
It it thought the victim, a pedestrian, was crossing the road at Belgrave Middleway, at around 3.30am.
He was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene, say West Midlands Police.
The 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he was pronounced dead.
The road was closed for a number of hours while an investigation got under way.
Officers are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward.
