Ten people treated after suspected chemical leak near Snow Hill railway station
Ten people were taken ill following a suspected chemical leak close to Snow Hill railway station.
Emergency services were called to William Booth Lane, off B4100 Old Snow Hill, in Birmingham, this afternoon.
Three fire crews from West Midlands Fire Service attended alongside ambulance crews including the specialist hazardous area response team.
West Midlands Police was also called to the scene.
It is understood that fire crews entered a hostel opposite to the train station and headed up to the second floor of the block.
There were reports of people coughing and receiving care from ambulance staff.
West Midlands Fire Service said it was treating the incident as a suspected chemical incident but did not believe it was suspicious.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said crews were called at around 3.30pm.
It is understood they treated six women and four men at the scene.
Railway and West Midlands Metro services were unaffected according to officials.
