Man stabbed near Birmingham's City Hospital

A man was stabbed close to a major hospital in broad daylight.

Police have launched an investigation after the attack near City Hospital in Birmingham this afternoon.

Officers said the 31-year-old victim was knifed on Heath Street at the junction of Dudley Road just after 1pm today.

He was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his leg and is in a stable condition.

Forensic specialists remain at the scene and police said enquiries into the attack are ongoing.
