Police have said they are 'deeply concerned' for the health and safety of 40-year-old Jason Wood.

Mr Wood, who is from the Handsworth area, has never been missing before and there are concerns for the state of his mental health.

He was last seen on Thursday at around 11.55am when he attended an appointment with support workers in Handsworth and has not been seen or heard from since.

Mr Wood is described as a white man, 5ft 9in tall and slim.

He has cropped untidy blonde hair and was last seen wearing blue denim jeans, a tracksuit top and grey trainers.

Pc Shaun Reeve said: “This is out of character for Jason and we need to trace him urgently to check that he is safe and well.

“I would urge Jason to contact us directly if he sees this appeal, or alternatively if anyone has seen him, please call the Locate Team on 101."
