Three more Covid deaths in the Black Country and Staffordshire
Three coronavirus deaths have been confirmed at hospitals in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire
The deaths announced on Saturday mean 7,537 patients have now died with Covid-19 in the region's hospitals.
On top of this, a total of 1,387 people have died in the region's care homes after contracting coronavirus.
NHS England confirmed a further 41 deaths on Saturday, meaning 86,392 have now died in the country's hospitals after testing positive for Covid-19.
One death was recorded at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, where the total is now 731.
Another death was confirmed at University Hospitals of Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Solihull and Good Hope hospitals, taking the total number of deaths 2,593.
One death was also announced at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, where the total stands at 1,373.
No new deaths were confirmed at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs City and Sandwell General hospitals, where the total remains at 1,163.
There were also no new deaths reported at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust or the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust where the totals remain at 719 and 796 respectively.
A spokesperson for the NHS said: "A further 41 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 86,392.
"Patients were aged between 30 and 98 years old. All except five (aged between 70 and 93 years) had known underlying health conditions.
"Date of death ranges from November 8, 2020 to April 2, 2021.
"Their families have been informed."
