Snacks, soft drinks and toiletries donated to frontline staff at New Cross Hospital
A Wolverhampton company has made a donation of goodies worth £5,000 to help frontline NHS staff.
The treats have been donated to workers at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.
BOC Wolverhampton, which employs around 220 people at their base in Horseley Fields, provided the supplies in a bid to support hospital staff.
Workers have purchased items including hand creams, lip balms, toiletries, water, soft drinks and individually wrapped snacks for staff at the intensive care unit at New Cross Hospital.
The care packages have been delivered to the hospital where they will be distributed between staff members.
Ben Jenkinson, branch manager at BOC, said: “The team at BOC Wolverhampton are proud to make a donation to the staff on the ICCU at New Cross Hospital to express our gratitude for their hard work and personal sacrifices helping the local community at this time.
“A large proportion of our staff and their families at BOC have personal experiences of the care, professionalism and dedication of the team in what are exceptionally difficult times, and we hope this small gesture will in some way show our appreciation for their efforts.”
Rachel Robinson, community and events fundraiser for the NHS trust, said: “We are very grateful to BOC for their generosity in providing these items, it’s very thoughtful of them.
“The staff were delighted to receive them and the gifts have really helped to lift their spirits at a challenging time.”
