Another 36 coronavirus deaths in hospitals across the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire
A further 36 coronavirus patients have died in hospitals in the Black Country, Birmingham and Staffordshire.
It means 3,069 patients have now died from Covid-19 in the region's hospitals since the pandemic began.
A total of 733 have died with the virus in the region's care homes.
Across England, another 317 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, in figures released today by the NHS, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in the country to 35,640.
Patients were aged between 33 and 98 years old. All except nine – aged 48 to 81 years old – had known underlying health conditions.
Date of death ranges from October 10 to November 11. Their families have been informed.
Five deaths were reported at the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs Walsall Manor Hospital, where the total increased to 282.
A further 10 deaths were recorded at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Foundation Trust, which runs County Hospital in Stafford and the Royal Stoke University Hospital, bringing the trust’s death toll to 464.
Three deaths were reported at the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Sandwell General and City hospitals, where the toll increased to 458.
Fifteen deaths were confirmed at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals, where the total rose to 1,162.
Two deaths were announced at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Russells Hall Hospital, where the death toll is now at 306.
No new deaths were announced at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, which runs New Cross and Cannock Chase hospitals. The death toll remains at 319.
One death was also recorded at the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, in Staffordshire.
Elsewhere, one death was also confirmed at Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust.
