The club’s all-time top scorer has been working with staff at the hospital during the past few months, starring in a series of short videos thanking staff for their hard work and keeping them up to date on the annual staff flu vaccine campaign.

He took time out from filming to sign the pictures of himself which will be auctioned in aid of the The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust’s charity, of which he is a regular supporter.

Chief nurse Mary Sexton said: “It’s been great having Steve recording messages for our staff and the weekly videos reminding our staff to have their flu jab have gone down really well.

"Now Steve has kindly agreed to sign some pictures which will help us raise funds for our Trust charity.

"This helps provide those extras for our patients that can make all the difference to their experience in hospital."

The framed photos will go into a silent auction – keep an eye on the Trust charity’s Facebook page DudleyGroupNHSCharity for details.
