Staff at the prison in Featherstone, just north of Wolverhampton, confirmed that one positive case had been confirmed.

The prisoner is in isolation away from other inmates.

However, the sister of one man serving a sentence at the prison said her brother is "afraid to go out to exercise" in fear of catching the virus.

Rosina Lothian told the Express & Star: "He won't go out to exercise. He's in his cell twenty-three-and-a-half hours a day. It's not good for his mental health and we're very concerned. He only goes out to get his meals."
