Students sent home after coronavirus case at Wolverhampton Girls' High School
A year group at a Wolverhampton school has been instructed to self-isolate after a confirmed case of coronavirus.
Year 12 students at Wolverhampton Girls' High School have been sent home to self-isolate for two weeks – teachers will be helping them study online.
Headteacher Trudi Young said: "Following one positive confirmed case of Covid-19, on the advice of Public Health England, Year 12 students from WGHS are self-isolating.
"The school has adopted the approach taken during lockdown and a full timetable of live lessons has commenced via MS Teams."

A spokesman for Wolverhampton Council added: "Where cases of Covid-19 are confirmed among members of the city’s school population, the school, council and Public Health England are working closely to implement the appropriate steps to manage any potential exposure.
"We are aware of individual cases among the city’s school population and are reassured that appropriate steps are being taken to allow schools to manage these situations safely."
