No new coronavirus deaths reported in the Black Country, Staffordshire or Birmingham
No coronavirus deaths were reported at hospitals across the Black Country, Staffordshire and Birmingham yesterday, according to the latest figures.
It means the death toll in region remains at 2,569.
A further 697 have died in care homes in the region, according to the latest data by the Office for National Statistics since April 10 and up to September 4
It comes as just one person in England who tested positive for the virus in hospital has died – in the North East area – bringing the total to 29,662.
A total of 288 Covid-19 patients have died so far at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, which runs New Cross and Cannock Chase hospitals, and 230 people have died at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust which runs Walsall Manor.
A total of 264 Covid-19 patients have died at Russells Hall Hospital, run by The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, and 383 people have died at the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, which runs Sandwell General and City hospitals.
In Staffordshire, 355 people have died at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust which runs the major hospitals in Stafford and Stoke.
