Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight in event to support Acorns
The man behind smash-hit series Peaky Blinders will help raise funds for Acorns hospice in a special show.
Steven Knight will be in conversation with West Midlands Mayor Andy Street, another supporter of the campaign to save the Walsall hospice, at the event to be held at Birmingham Council House on March 5.
The new date has been confirmed after the event was previously postponed.
The pair have joined forces with some of the West Midlands’ most influential figures from TV and film to launch Create Central; a new body which aims to revolutionise the region’s creative industry.
Acorns needs to raise £2 million to ensure the survival of the Walstead Road hospice. Around £500,000 has been raised so far thanks to a phenomenal effort from the public, lifting the threat of immediate closure.
The In Conversation event will explore the success of Mr Knight, whose Peaky Blinders had become a global sensation, and Mr Street, the former boss of John Lewis.

“Steven Knight and Andy Street are long-standing supporters of Acorns and we’re grateful to them both for giving their time for what will undoubtedly be an entertaining and informative event.”
Tickets are available until Monday for an early bird price of £45 each. Full price tickets will be available from Tursday at £55 per head or a discounted £500 for a table of 10.
