Bridgnorth man joins Jaguar jaunt to help cancer charity after father’s fight
A Bridgnorth man will be taking part in a charity coastal drive around mainland Britain in an E-Type Jaguar.
Julian Barrat, 39, is set to complete the first stage of the Jaguar E-Type Club’s Round Britain Coastal Drive, in support of Prostate Cancer UK.
The nationwide event, which will be starting on September 17, is split into various 180-mile stages all driven by groups of E-Types.
Julian will join the convoy from Carmarthenshire to Gwynedd, taking in the Welsh coast along the way while showing his support to the charity.
The 39-year-old was inspired to take part in the 2018 Round Britain Coastal Drive, because his father has been affected by prostate cancer and fortunately overcame the disease.
Julian said: “I am very proud to have taken part in the first E-Type Club Round Britain Coastal Drive back in 2016.
"I took our Series 1 E-Type on the Scottish stages which proved to be a truly unique experience, breath-taking scenery and cars, plus the camaraderie of the drivers was truly something special.

"To be able to raise money for a worthwhile cause was even better.
“My father has been affected by prostate cancer and consequently, I now have an increased risk of getting the disease.
"Therefore, I want to do as much as I can to raise much needed funds for Prostate Cancer UK and help stop prostate cancer being a killer.”
The route starts in Carmarthenshire on September 17 and concludes in Pembrokeshire on October 5.
The 4,000-mile tour aims to add a further £70,000 to the £150,000 raised for Prostate Cancer UK, in the event’s first two years.
Philip Porter, co-founder of the 19-day event, said: “The aim was to give E-Type Club members a great driving event at the same time as raising funds for, and awareness of, prostate cancer.
"It was meant to be a one-off event but proved so popular that we’re now running it for the third consecutive year.
"We have cars and crews coming from abroad, including the United States, we even have people who have bought an E-Type so they can take part.”
Prostate cancer is set to become the most commonly diagnosed cancer of all in the UK by 2030.
