Celebs unite to throw their weight behind Feed a Family and help less fortunate
From stars of the screen and stage to some of the biggest names in music – we’ve been inundated with support for Feed a Family This Christmas from famous faces.
An Olympian and fellow sporting legend are also among those to back our Feed a Family This Christmas appeal this year. Former Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, who is starring in Jack and The Beanstalk at Wolverhampton Grand, helped to launch our campaign.
She and urged readers to donate what they could to help those less fortunate. Her fellow panto stars Adam C Booth and Ian Adams later joined her in backing the appeal.
Slade guitarist Dave Hill gave the cause a thumbs up when he entertained fans at The Robin2 in Bilston. While the appeal proved to be right up Corrie star Antony Cotton’s street when he took time out from a visit to the Black Country to show his support.
Pop rock stars The Vamps have thrown their weight behind the campaign when they switched on the Christmas lights at Merry Hill.
Singer James McVey said at the time: “We are happy to support the Feed a Family This Christmas campaign, It is a great idea and a good cause.”
From the world of sport, we’ve had gold medalist Joe Clarke. The 24-year-old slalom canoeist, from Stafford and Stone Canoe Club,was one of the first well-known faces to speak out in support of the appeal.
While cycling legend Hugh Porter championed the cause as he urged readers to get involved and remember ‘what Christmas is about’.
While TV personality and antiques expert Will Farmer, who is known for his work with the Antiques Roadshow, came on board with the appeal, saying: “No family should have to be facing a Christmas without food and the more donations people make, the less likely that is to happen.”
