Staff at Performance Through People has been busy collecting food, toiletries and other essentials to help support a number of food banks and other good causes across the region to ensure that families aren’t feeling the pinch this festive season.

Our appeal has received backing from employees at the company who have donated festive items such as scarves and gloves, as well as basics such as canned goods, pasta and long life milk.

Gill Durkin, business development director at Performance Through People, which has five training centres including ones in Walsall, Cannock and Wolverhampton, said they were excited to be continuing their support for local food banks.

“It is great to support a local initiative like the Express & Star’s Feed a Family This Christmas appeal and to help families across the region that are facing a bleak Christmas.

"As a business we are keen to support the local communities we serve, and have contact with a number of food banks supporting clients that may have access to some of our courses.

“Our employees have been fantastic donating presents such as scarves, hats and gloves as well as non-perishables and toiletries – they think it is a fantastic cause and we are pleased to support it," she added.

The good causes our appeal is supporting are The Well (Home of the Wolverhampton Food Bank), the Good Shepherd Ministry, based in Wolverhampton and the Black Country Food Bank, which has centres across Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall.

Donations have also gone to Smethwick Food Bank, Walsall North Food Bank and Cannock and District Food Bank as well as The Haven women's refuge in Wolverhampton.
