We are committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to residents, as featured on BBC One's 'Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure' documentary. A dedicated Chaplain also offers pastoral support to all,

whatever their beliefs.

At Weston House, residents can be sure of a focus on their mental health needs as much as their physical care requirements. Residents are encouraged to pursue the hobbies and interests that they enjoy and given the support that enables them to live fulfilled lives every day.

Weston & Queensway House shot to fame in May 2019 as resident Eileen Pegg featured in a major BBC One documentary, Our Dementia Choir. Actress Vicky McClure visited the home to see first-hand the life-enhancing impacts of music therapy in dementia care.

Weston House is linked by a walkway to Queensway House – the former is the older of the two homes by a few months. Weston House became part of MHA in 2005 after it had been operating for 12 years.

There have been many changes over time but one senses a consistency of endeavour throughout. “We pride ourselves on looking after our residents and their loved ones,” writes one staff member.“We maintain a sense of humour along with a sense of purpose.”
