The Trust is the power behind four secondary academies that each has two or more years of improved GCSE results. It’s one success story that is only just beginning, and your child can be a part of it.
Dudley Academies Trust is changing the face of education in Dudley. It currently runs Beacon Hill Academy in Sedgley, Pegasus Academy next to Russells Hall Hospital, St James Academy in central Dudley and The Link Academy in Netherton. All of them are rapidly improving schools with strong leadership, outstanding teachers and a highly successful system of rewards and behaviour management.

Behind the scenes, the Trust has launched new teaching methods in the classrooms and new programmes for Careers, confidence-building and personal development. The Trust only started work two years ago, but already they have spent many £millions on the buildings and IT systems at each of the academies, bringing them up to the latest standards. Another £5 million is being spent this year.
There are great facilities for sport and performing arts, with very active clubs, teams and out-of-school activities running for the learners. In the classrooms, the academies teach using a method called ‘collaborative learning’ which means that every child is always participating in the lessons and no-one is left out. There are support staff to help learners who find themselves slipping behind and challenges to push to brighter children to achieve even more. Pastoral staff, who help children to grow as people and face up to life’s difficulties, are a key part of the academies’ success.
