Six cars destroyed in Smethwick scrapyard blaze
Six cars were destroyed in the latest in a spate of suspected arson attacks on scrapyards within the past month.

A yard on Lath Lane, Smethwick, was hit in a suspected attack for the second time last night at just before midnight, after previously having had 70 cars wrecked in an attack on May 23.
Two fire crews from Smethwick and West Bromwich were quickly on the scene after being alerted by a passing police car, and were able to contain the blaze to just the six cars.
Watch commander Andy Shakespeare, from Smethwick station, said: "There were six cars on fire, and we were able to keep it to those six and prevent it spreading."
