Plans for Pool Hayes Academy on Castle Drive were put forward to address the increasing demand in school places across Walsall.
The new block made up of seven classrooms, toilets and an office will have capacity for 210 pupils.
This project, together with the school increasing its pupil admission numbers in 2022, and the installation of two temporary portakabins totalling four new classrooms in 2023, will allow the overall capacity to grow by up to 250 pupils over the next four years.
The ground floor of the new classroom block will be fully accessible to those with physical disabilities, including wheelchair users, and will have an accessible toilet.
It will be located to the south of the existing sports hall block and to the west of the gymnasium and hall block.
One lime tree will have to be felled to bring the project to life, but the trust has proposed to plant twelve native trees by way of mitigation.
Pool Hayes Academy, which is part of the Academy Transformation Trust, is one of two schools in the borough of Walsall which will be expanded to meet the increasing demand in pupil numbers.
