Katie delivers school packs
Educational packs are being delivered to families with children stuck at home.
Katie Dilks, from Hednesford has put together 260 packs so far with more to come.
The 26-year-old suffers with Crohn’s Disease and has had to be careful since the pandemic began and take extra precautions.
Despite this, Katie has been doing her bit to support young people in the community through her home schooling tools.
She said: “I was inspired to make the packs because I had seen that one in 10 children don’t have access to computers and the internet.
"I’d also seen that some schools were charging to be able to have a laptop at home which for some big families wouldn’t be an option.
"I put a post on a few of the food bank sites and selling pages to see if anyone would like the packs and the response was crazy.
"I had more than 100 packs needed within the first day for so many different reasons.
“The main one being no internet access, access to printers and a lot from people who are shielding and didn’t have access for items to help them home school.”
Katie added: “I’ve had quite a few messages saying they can’t believe what’s in them and how much they will help.”
Donations are still needed and can be dropped off at One Stop in Hednesford, Norton and Pye Green.
