Pupils don odd socks to mark National Anti-Bullying Week
Children wore odd socks to mark National Anti-Bullying Week and also spent time learning how to make their school a happier, safer place.
Pupils at Landywood Primary School, in Great Wyrley, have been looking at how to help their classmates if they are being bullied.
This week is National Anti-Bullying Week and the theme for 2020 is United Against Bullying, which saw children across the country wear odd socks to school to mark the occasion.
Headteacher Andrew Clewer said: “Bullying can have a long lasting effect on those who experience and witness it.
"But by channelling our collective power, through shared efforts and shared ambitions, we can reduce bullying together.
"From parents and carers, to teachers and politicians, to children and young people, we all have a part to play in coming together to make a difference.
“We held a special day to help children understand the different forms of bullying.
"We shared different scenarios and asked the children to think what they would do if they were being bullied.
“We also worked with the children on strategies to help support a friend if they were being bullied.
"We are all a piece in the puzzle and we can help to tackle bullying.”
