Police bust Wednesfield cannabis farm with plants valued at more than £100,000

A cannabis farm in Wednesfield with plants worth more than £100,000 has been shut down and a man arrested.

Officers from Wednesfield and Heath Town Local Policing Unit were alerted to the cannabis farm yesterday (Saturday, May 31) growing at a residential property in Wood End Road and on attending found 121 plants.

The plants were seized for destruction and a man was arrested.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at around 12.20am yesterday morning (Saturday) to Wood End Road, Wolverhampton to reports of a burglary at an address.

"When we arrived, we discovered a cannabis factory at the property which contained more than 120 plants.

"A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

"Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting log 78 of May 31."
