The driver, who was reportedly found to have no license of insurance, has been driving around Stone, Staffordshire, with a handwritten license plate.

In a post on X, StaffsRCT said the marker-pen job was "not the best cloned vehicle we have ever seen", adding that the plates had been made to "hide the fact they had no licence & no insurance".

Officers also claimed to have found Cannabis and that the driver had failed a drugs test, resulting in an arrest and the vehicle being seized.

The arrest was made as part of Operation Lightning - a dedicated operation focusing on road safety, helping to make Staffordshire's roads safer.

It aims to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on the roads and to disrupt and deter criminals from using the road network.
