The thieves struck on separate occasions resulting in cash and a bank card being snatched from the victims. Now West Midlands Police has released CCTV images of two women officers want to speak to in relation to the incidents.

The first theft happened on October 29 last year just after 1.30pm when a woman, aged in her 80s, was shopping in Heron Foods in Castle Street and a quantity of cash was stolen from her handbag.

The second theft happened on December 3 shortly before 2.40pm when a bank card was stolen from a man, aged in his 90s, at Barclays Bank in Dudley High Street. Later that same day a sum of money was then withdrawn from a cashpoint using the card.

Police said in both incidents the suspects worked together and used distraction techniques to steal from victims.

"We have made a number of enquiries including reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses but we are now asking for the public’s help. We believe the women in the images may have vital information to help our investigation," the force stated.

Anyone recognising the women pictured should phone 101 or contact the force via Live Chat quoting reference number 20/988434/24.
