Searching the vehicle, officers discovered a 30kg haul of class A drugs, including cocaine and heroin, with an estimated street value of around £3 million.

Prosecuting, Mr Dean Easthope said: "On July 23, this defendant was driving a transit van registered to him, he was stopped at the Norton Canes services on the M6 Toll. He was the only person in there.

"As he was walking towards the services he was detained. Cardboard boxes were located in the van. Two boxes contained packages of brown powder substance, the third contained white powder substance - obviously heroin and cocaine."
