Man charged with possession of knife in Walsall

A man has been charged with possession of a knife while in a public place in Walsall.

Paul White, 42, was arrested yesterday on Chapel Street, Bloxwich, after police received a call shortly before 5pm.

A man had been seen allegedly holding a knife in a store on the street and the arrest was made after studying CCTV footage.

He was taken into custody and charged with possession of a knife in a public place, and handed bail with strict conditions to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on September 24.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We have arrested and charged a man with possession of a knife while in a public place in Walsall.

"Paul White, aged 42, was arrested yesterday, August 21, on Chapel Street, Bloxwich, after we received a call shortly before 5pm yesterday, August 21.

"A man had been seen allegedly holding a knife in a store on the street and the arrest was made after studying CCTV footage.

"He was taken into custody and charged with possession of a knife in a public place. He was handed bail with strict conditions to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on September 24.
