Councillor calls for more resources to tackle car cruising as injunction crackdown continues
A councillor has called for more resources to continue tackling car cruising after two more cars were seized by police in a continuing crackdown.
Councillor Stephen Simkins has praised police and called for more resources following the arrest of two more alleged street racers for breaching a high court injunction.
The arrests, one of which happened in the Sandwell and Halesowen area, saw an Audi S3 and a Seat taken from the streets.
Councillor Simkins, the deputy leader of Wolverhampton Council, said: "We are always pleased when there is an arrest when people are driving dangerously.
"Street racing is putting our people's lives at risk. It's pleasing that the police and the injunction are doing what they can do to keep our streets safe."
The councillor went on to call for more resources to help tackle street racing in the Black Country.
Councillor Simkins continued: "Wolverhampton has been the forefront of this injunction, but it is only as good as the enforcement and the resources allow. It's important that we get the right amount of resources.
