Man killed at Black Country home died of stab wound

A man allegedly murdered at a house in the Black Country was killed by a single stab wound, a post mortem has found.

The 40-year-old man died after being stabbed at the house in The Lukes, Dudley Wood, last Monday.

Detectives are still trying to establish how the stab wound was inflicted.

A 31-year-old woman, who was known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder but has been released pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’re continuing to investigate the circumstances of the death of a man found injured at a house in Netherton on 14 June.

"The 40-year-old was confirmed dead soon after we arrived at a property in The Lukes at around 1.15pm.

"A post mortem examination concluded he died of a single stab wound. Enquires into how he sustained this injury are ongoing.

"A 31-year-old woman - understood to be known to the man - was detained on suspicion of murder and has been released pending further enquiries."

A cordon was set up around the semi-detached two-storey house where the man died as police launched their investigation.

Neighbours said the people involved "kept themselves to themselves" having lived in the area for around a year.
