Attempted murder arrest after woman stabbed in Wolverhampton
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was seriously injured in a stabbing in Wolverhampton.
An air ambulance was sent to the scene after the woman was stabbed at a house in Talbot Place, near Bilston Primary School, at about 10.15am on Thursday.
The woman, aged in her 20s, was seriously injured and taken to hospital however her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening
A 41-year-old man, who is understood to be known to the woman, was detained on Thursday evening on suspicion of attempted murder.
However he was also taken to hospital for treatment and is yet to be questioned.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been arrested after a woman was found with stab wounds at an address in Talbot Place, Wolverhampton, just after 10am.
"The woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening.
"A 41-year-old man - understood to be known to the woman - was detained last night on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in hospital and will be questioned in due course.
Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Talbot Place at 10.15am, two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital for further treatment."
