Police shared pictures of the black Mitsubishi Trojan at the petrol station in Cannock with the caption: "Just when you thought you'd seen it all."

The images show the car on the petrol station forecourt balancing a mountain of wooden slats, plastic chairs, ripped-out radiators and even a bike that was piled so high it almost spilled on to the roof.

PC Mark Hodson, of CMPG B Unit, said: "We were called to advise on a vehicle that was an obvious danger to not only the occupants but also all other road users in the vehicle's vicinity.

“Worse still it was being driven by a driver who has not attained the standard of driving to obtain a full licence.

"Although shocking it is a timely reminder to everyone that when carrying a load on any vehicle to firstly make sure your vehicle is suitable for carrying it and secondly that it is properly secured."
