Man still in serious condition in hospital after Walsall machete robbery terror
A man who was beaten in a horrific machete attack at his Walsall home is still in hospital in a serious condition.
West Midlands Police confirmed they have not yet made any arrests after the terrifying robbery which happened on Saturday night at a house in Harden Road, Bloxwich.
The men were armed with machetes, sledgehammers and a knife, and eventually left with a substantial amount of cash and jewellery.
The woman had a knife held against her throat, while the man suffered arm and head injuries after being repeatedly hit with a weapon.
A spokesman for the force said today: "No arrests at present, we're working through a number of enquiries.
"The man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition."
Detective Inspector Mandy Thompson, from force CID, said yesterday: "This was an horrific experience for the victims in their own home.
"The man was repeatedly hit with a machete as he tried to get them to leave, while the woman had a knife put against her throat.
"We need to find whoever was responsible for this and I would urge anyone with information about this trio, however insignificant they feel it may be, to come forward."
