Emergency 999 line restored on landline phones after issues in Staffordshire and the Black Country
The 999 emergency number is now fully working again after it crashed last night.
Police, fire and ambulance services posted on social media just after 8pm yesterday informing people that there was an issue dialling the number from landline phones.
West Midlands Fire Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said that there was an issue in a number of areas including; Wolverhampton, Walsall, Cradley Heath, Kingswinford, Sedgley, Brierley Hill, Burntwood, Heath Hayes, Codsall, Armitage, Kinver, Brewood and Cheslyn Hay.
Both fire services tweeted to say that the 999 lines were fully restored by 10.17pm on Wednesday evening.
