Man beaten and slashed in Birmingham robbery

Police are hunting for two suspects after a man was beaten and slashed in a robbery.

The victim had won £1,000 at a casino in Birmingham and was then befriended by the two men, who tried to take him to a second casino.

They were refused entry but on their way to a third casino, they punched, kicked and slashed the victim with a knife.

They stole £1,550 and the victim’s phone during the robbery, which happened in the early hours of September 17 near St Augustine’s Church, on Lyttelton Road, Edgbaston.

The first suspect is in his early 20s, around 5ft 8ins tall and black.

He was wearing a dark cap, dark jacket and dark jeans, is of average build and has a Birmingham accent.

The man had a flick knife which was around four or five inches long, with a black handle and a dark silver, grey blade.

The second suspect is around 19 or 20, and around 5ft 7ins tall, and black.

He was skinny, wearing a dark green jacket, and lighter coloured jeans. He had shaved hair around the side of his head and then Afro-style hair on top and also had a Birmingham accent.
