Man Tasered after disturbance in Wolverhampton city centre
A man was Tasered in Wolverhampton after several reports of disturbances in the city centre this morning.
The man was detained by officers in Queen Street after allegedly causing trouble throughout the area for around three hours.
Police were initially called shortly before 6am and the incident ended when the 48-year-old was Tasered multiple times on the pavement outside the Express & Star offices at around 8.45am.
He had initially refused to comply with officers' attempts to detain him.
The suspect was arrested after a man tried to force his way into several buildings while walking around the city centre shouting and banging on doors.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Police were called to Queen Street in Wolverhampton city centre just before 6am this morning to a report of a man acting suspiciously, shouting and banging on doors.
"The 48-year-old man was Tasered by officers after he failed to comply. He will now be taken into police custody."
